Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Hightower (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England and Ireland. In the 1600's-1700's, some settled in Kentucky, Massachusetts, South Carolina, and Virginia. Some focus is on (but not limited to) Joshua Hightower who died in 1726, his wife, Eleanor (Charnold?), their son, John Hightower (1698-1764), and his wife, Mary Bryan (1695-1774). John and Mary's named their son Joshua Heightower (Sr.). He died in 1794 in Nottoway County, Virginia. During the 1800's, some Hightowers moved to Canada, and to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. Later descendants and relatives also lived in Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario (Canada), and in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and elsewhere. Some have African American bloodlines.
