Chiefly a record of some life sketches of ancestors of Gene Raymond Cook. Elizabeth Hodges (1793-1881) immigrated to Salt Lake City with her husband and several children in 1852. Priscilla Covington (1839- 1916) immigrated with her parents Elizabeth Hodges and Berril Covington. She married Thomas Ephraim Thornton. Mary Griswold (1812-1858) who married Oliver Thornton (1806-1891), son of Joseph Thornton and Lucretia Calkins. Both were born in Ontario, Canada and immigrated to Kirtland, Ohio in 1838. Thomas Ephraim Thornton was born 2 Jan 1835 in Pickering, Ontario, Canada to Oliver Thornton and Mary Griswold. He married Priscilla Covington 27 Apr 1856. Tamma Durfee born 6 Jan 1813, married first Albert Miner (d.1848), second Enos Curtis (d.1856), third John White Curtis. She was the mother of fourteen children, five died young. Olive Amanda Smith (1825-1885) was the mother of Chauncey Harvey Cook. Martha Allen (1803-1860) married first Hawley Decker Smith or Markham (he died), second David Henry Orser (he died), third Phineas Richards (they divorced), fourth Emer Harris. Martha was the mother of Olive Amanda Smith.

Ancestors include: Chauncey Harvey Cook (1874-1944) and Hannah Elsie Hansen Sonberg (1879-1969) -- Raymond Ross Thornton (1887-1957) and Cora Mary Ann (Anne) Peterson (1892-1974) -- Chauncey Harvey Cook (1842-1923) and Clarissa Curtis (1851-1915) -- Jens Christian Hansen Sonberg (1835-1914) and Karen Hansen (1845-1912) -- Amos Edward Thornton (1857-1932) and Sarah Ann Phillips (1863-1941) -- Martin (Martinus) Petersen (1865-1940) and Nicoline (Lena) Marie Andersen or Jensen (1861-1903) -- and others.
