Description
"This hodgepodge collection presents genealogical data on approximately 1500 early British Ewbank, and phonetically related spelling, plus a large portion of the Eubank(s)/Ewbank family in the United States.... In round numbers, there are 2180 persons with the Eubank surname, 1520 with the surname Eubanks, 2450 with the surname Ewbank, and another 8700 related people."--P. 1.
Description
Although the authors collected information on the Eubank name, they were also concerned with Samuel Burton Eubank's ancestors. Four Eubank brothers (John, James, George and Thomas) were supposed to have come to Virginia in the early 18th century. John Eubank was born between 1710 and 1730. His wife's name was Hannah and they had 9 children. John died in 1789 in Virginia. James Eubank was born between 1709 and 1730. He married Margaret (Peggy) Lewis and they had 10 children. Another of the supposed brothers was George Eubank. He was born between 1712 and 1738. His wife's name was Mary and they had 9 children. George died in 1802. Not much is known about the fourth brother Thomas. Some descendants of John were followed in the narrative. .
