Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Goddard (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England (especially Oxfordshire and Wiltshire counties), France, Germany, Ireland, and Wales. In the 1600-1700s, some immigrated to Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia. During the 1800s, some moved to British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, and the Yukon Territory (Canada), Barbados (West Indies), China, Mexico, Siam, and to Alabama, Alaska, California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, and Washington. Later descendants also lived in Manitoba, Prince Edward Island and Quebec (Canada), Australia, the Philippines, Poland, Zaire (Belgian Congo), and in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, Washington D.C., Wisconsin, and elsewhere. Information includes biographical sketches, cemetery inscriptions, convocation and reunions, members' lists, current special events, obituaries, photographs, shared research, vital records, etc.

Issuing Body
The Goddard Association of America was founded in Oklahoma in June 1977 by Dr. John W. Harms, Pearl Goddard Harms, Ethel Mae Goddard, and Pliney E. Goddard. It was incorporated in 1978 in Ohio as a nonprofit organization, and changed its name to the Goddard Historical and Genealogical Society. It has a sister organization, the Goddard Association of Europe, which also publishes a newsletter. For more information, see their Web site.
