Description
William Wilson, M.D. was born in Ireland, ca. 1781. He and his wife, Mary, had four children, 1812-1829. Most of the family followed the oldest son, James K. Wilson, to the United States in 1834 and settled at Paris, Tennessee. Their son, James K. Wilson, M.D. (1812-1874), immigrated to the United States in 1833. He settled at Paris, Kentucky and went into the drug business with his father in 1836. He married Geraldine H. Cooley (1819-1893) at Paducah, Kentucky, in 1836. They had seven children, 1841-1858. The family moved to Paducah in 1838; he attended the Medical Institute of Louisville, 1839-1840. The family located in Mississippi County, Missouri in 1841; moved to Symsonia, Kentucky, in 1842; then Benton, Kentucky, in 1866. He died at Benton. Descendants listed lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas and elsewhere.
