Description
Joh Matthias Theiss/Tice/Dice (1704-1748) was born in Birkenfeld, Grünbach, Germany and died in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His parents were Thomas Thies (ca. 1617-1675) and Margaretha (b. ca. 1619). In 1726, he married Susanna "Barbara" Lauer (1705-ca. 1748) in Wolfersweiler,Germany. They emigrated to America with their son, Joh Michael (1728-1804) and after settling in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, had eight more children: Henry (1729-1806), Matthias (1731-1799), John (ca. 1732-1808), Joh George (1735-1772), David (1737-1810), Daniel (1738-1770), Elizabeth (1739-1831) and Joseph (b. 1747). Includes Cotterman, Hammer, Harper, Kilmer, Miller, Ruddle, Shuey, Smith and related families.
