Description
Autobiography of John Wells Millspaugh (b.1818), a son of James Millspaugh and Cynthia Corwin. John was born in Orange County, New York, and moved with the family to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1822. The family later moved to land in Clearmont County, Ohio. John married Harriet Armstrong in 1843, and moved to Booneville, Indiana in 1846, and to Oakland, Iowa in 1861. He then enlisted to serve with the Union army during the Civil War. Descendants and relatives lived in Ohio, Iowa, Kansas and elsewhere. Includes a biographical sketch of Leonard Armstrong (b.1778), father of Harriet (Armstrong) Millspaugh.
