Description
Sands Stanley was born before 1741. He married Zilpha Edwards, ca. 1759, in Dobbs (now Craven) County, North Carolina. All their children were born there. The family moved about 7 miles west of Darlington, Cheraw District, South Carolina. Sands died on 19 Nov. 1799. According to a record in the Darlington County Court House, his will was probated on 18 Dec. 1799. Zilpha died on 31 Mar. 1808.

Description
John Ferrin Stanley was the son of William Henry Stanley, Jr. & Martha Dickson Baldwin. He was born in Shelby County (now Tenaha) Texas on 28 December 1884. Except for 7 years in Austin, Travis County, Texas & Houston, Harris County, Texas, John lived his entire life in Shelby County, Texas. John married Louisa Virginia "Jennie" Parker on 28 July 1909. The author is one of their 6 daughters. John passed away on 27 May 1957. Jennie later met & married Oscar Douglass. Jennie died on 18 Feb. 1970.
