William Hobbs lived in Granville County, North Carolina in 1754. His will was filed in Wake County, North Carolina in 1788. Descendants lived in Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and elsewhere. James Hobbs, possibly the brother of William, was in Granville County in 1753. He died in Iredell County, North Carolina in 1801. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, California, and elsewhere.
