Johann Gottfried Schütz (1810-1900) married Joahne Elisabeth Nitschke, and in 1855 the family emigrated from Germany to Port Misery, near Port Adelaide, South Australia, and stayed at Tanunda, until they settled at Flaxman's Valley, South Australia. Descendants lived in South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to British Columbia and elsewhere in Canada.
