William Gifford (ca.1615-1687/1688), a Quaker, immigrated from England to Plymouth, Massachusetts, moved to Sandwich, Massachusetts and later to Stanford, Connecticut, and married twice (once in England, once in Sandwich, Massachusetts). Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Idaho, Texas, Utah, California and elsewhere.
