Joris Dircksen Brinckerhoff (ca.1604-1661) married Susanna Dubbels in 1628, and emigrated from Holland to Brooklyn, New York in 1640. Descendants (spelling the surname Brinkerhoff or Brinckerhoff) and relatives lived in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin and elsewhere.

Joost De Baun (d.ca.1718/1722) married Elizabeth Drabbe, and the family emigrated in 1683 from Holland in The Netherlands to Bushwick, Long Island, New York. By 1684 they had moved to New Utrecht, Kings County, New York; after 1698 they moved to Orange (now Rockland) County, New York; and in 1704 to Hackensack, New Jersey. Abraham Voorhees or Voreis, was baptized 11 October 1772, possibly in Conewago, Pennsylvania or Berkeley County, Virginia. His parents were Peter Voorhees and Sophia Vanderbogert. He married Elizabeth Downey in about 1793, probably in Mercer County, Kentucky. They had fourteen children. Abraham died 8 May 1860 in Marshall County, Indiana.
