David Ackerman, born in 1614, immigrated to New Amsterdam in 1662 from Nord Brabant, Netherlands. His descendant, Abraham Ackerman (1804-1867), was born in New York City. He married Hannah Jersey (1806-1876), daughter of James Jersey and Mary De Clark in 1825. Abraham and Hannah moved to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1841. Descendants lived in Wisconsin and elsewhere.

Seaman R. Richards (1819-1903), son of Evan and Elizabeth Richards, was born at sea while his parents were emigrating from Wales to Bromme County, New York in 1819. Seaman married Hamelia Ackerman and lived in Pennsylvania until 1848, when he moved to Portage Prairie, Columbia County, Wyoming. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Wyoming, North Dakota and elsewhere.
