Nicholas Stowers (ca.1600-1646) and his family emigrated from England to Salem, Massachusetts in 1628, settling at Charlestown, Massachusetts in 1629, and later moving to Malden, Massachusetts. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri, California and elsewhere. Includes ancestry and some family history in England. Most records arranged in alphabetical order (by given name) in each volume.

William H. Adkins was born in 1883 at Sandy Hook, Elliot County, Kentucky and married Linnie Lee Pennington in 1907. They became converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and moved to Idaho. He died in 1953 at Pocatello, Idaho and was buried in American Falls, Idaho. Includes Caudill, Conelly, Stanger and related families.

Bartlett Adkins married Cynthia Ann Waddell (1808-1887) in Decatur County, Indiana in 1824. They lived in Kentucky and Indiana, and he died between 1830 and 1840. She married Rudolph Miller before 1840. After his death, she moved to Iowa. Most descendants lived in Iowa, Indiana, Nebraska and California.
