Mathieu Agee, a Huguenot, was born near Nantes, France, ca. 1670. He immigrated to Virginia in 1690 and built a plantation near Richmond. He married Ann Godwin, daughter of Isaac and Ann Godwin. They had four children. Descendants of their sons, James Agee (1725-1821) and Anthony Agee (b. ca. 1727), lived in Virginia, Alabama, Missouri, and elsewhere.

The Hoge families are descended from William Hoge (b. 1660) of Musselboro, Scotland. He came to America in 1682. He married Barbara Hume and they lived in Perth Amboy, New Jersey and later settled in the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania. Descendants (many spelling the surname Hogue) and relatives lived in Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and elsewhere.

Ambrose Lipscomb was born ca. 1633, perhaps at Silverton, Devonshire, England. He was living in what is now King William County, Virginia, by 1679.
