Justus Akin was born 10 March 1756 in Dutchess County, New York. His parents were David Akin, Jr. and Deborah Gray. He married Elizabeth Briggs in 1781. They had one daughter, Almy. He married Mary Cory in about 1787 and they had four children. He died in 1836 in Jackson, New York. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived in New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut, Ohio, California, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and elsewhere.
