Henry Roper, son of Abel Roper and Sarah Mosely, was born 20 Dec 1822 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He immigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with his family about 1831-1833. Thomas A. De Moss was born in 1801 in Kentucky. He married Rebecca Isabelle Morrow in about 1827. They had eight children. He died 28 August 1877 in Cicero, Indiana. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Indiana, Missouri and California.

William Black (1784-1873), soon of William Black and Mary Gardiner, was born in Blaris, Lisburn, Antrim, Ireland. He married Jane Johnston (1802-1890), daughter of Daniel Johnston and Margaret Chambers, in 1822. He emigrated in 1843, joining his wife and children, who emigrated before him, in Nauvoo, Illinois.
