James Mayers (1820-1887), son of Thomas Mayers and Betty Brown, emigrated in 1839 from England to Paterson, New Jersey. He married Sarah Ann Allison (1823-1869), daughter of William Allison, in 1842. William Herron (1766-1854) was born in Donegal, Ireland. He married Elizabeth Ann Moore about 1787. They came to America in 1804 and settled in Rich Hill Township, Muskingum County, Ohio. Elizabeth died about 1813, and William married Elizabeth Crow in 1815. Descendants and relatives lived in Ohio, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana and elsewhere.

George Gourley came to Nova Scotia from Northern Ireland in 1816 and was followed by his wife and six children in 1817 and in a few months they moved into Pennsylvania.
