John Barclay (ca. 1814-1888), son of John Barclay (1790-1864) of Perthshire, Scotland, and Mary Ross Pitcairn (1816-1911) were married at Dumbarton, Scotland, in 1838. They had six children, born in Scotland and Quebec, Canada. The family first immigrated to Canada with members of the Pitcairn family in 1842. They returned to Scotland in 1843, then returned to Canada, in 1859. Descendants lived mainly in Quebec, Ontario and Maine.

Peter Jacoby (d.1761) married Maria Elizabeth Heuer, and in 1741 the family immigrated from the Palatinate of Germany to Philadelphia, settling in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
