In 1666, three sons of Sir John Hinton/Hynton (1603-1682) immigrated from England to Maryland. In 1710, three Hinton brothers immigrated from England to Chowan Co., N. C. They, too were descendants of Sir John Hinton. Descendants of these men lived in Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and throughout the South.

John Eaton was born in 1845 in Littleton, North Carolina. He was raised as a slave by William Eaton. His biological father was Peyton Ross. He married Agnes (d. 1880) and they had four sons. He married Mary Eliza Eaton (1862-1909), daughter of Henry Eaton and Missouri, in 1882 in Littleton, North Carolina. They had nine children. He died in 1925. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey.

Peter Mallett, son of Peter Mallett (b. 1711) and Mary Booth, was born in 1744 in Tashua, Connecticut. He married Eunice Judson Curtis, daughter of Jeremiah Judson Curtis and Mary Edwards, in 1765 in Stratford, Connecticut. They had two children. He married Sarah Mumford, daughter of Robinson Mumford and Sarah Coit, in 1780 in Cross Creek, North Carolina. They had thirteen children. He died in 1805 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
