John Amburgey, Jr. was born in 1758 on a farm once owned by his German immigrant grandfather Conrad Amberger. The latter died about 1742 when his son John Amburgey, Sr. was about twelve years old. On July 3, 1787, John Amburgey, Jr. married Elizabeth Hamons. They had twelve children. In 1814 most of the family moved to Russell County, Virginia and in 1826, some families crossed the mountains into what was Perry County, Kentucky (now Knott County). Descendants...

Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of Shadrack Hall Slone who was likely born ca 1788 in Virginia. He was the son of Hiram Slone and Alice (surname unknown). Shadrack married Caty Reynolds 27 September 1804 in Patrick Co., Virginia. They lived in Floyd Co., Kentucky and could have been the parents of up to fourteen children. Thomas Hall was born in about 1702 in Lunenburg County, Virginia. He married Martha in about 1722. They had eight children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and Kentucky.

John Holbrook was born in about 1764 in Goochland County, Virginia. He married Mary Cooksey, daughter of Andrew Cooksey and Barbara, in about 1784 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. He died between 1815 and 1820 in Russell County, Virginia. They had five children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia.

John "Richmond" Combs, son of Archdale Combs and Elizabeth Butler, was born in 1662 in Virginia. He married Hannah Mason, daughter of Josiah Mason, in 1677 in Crittenden, Kentucky. They had two children. He married Ann in 1705 in Caroline County, Virginia. They had seven children. He died in 1717 in Richmond County, Virginia. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, Virginia and Kentucky.
