Ashby Lee Ogburn was born 15 March 1863 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. His parents were Wesley Ogburn (1834-1885) and Flournoy J. Gill (1834-1900). He married Harriet Jane Petty 16 October 1883. They had eight daughters. She died in 1899. He married Elizabeth Gascoyne in 1904 and they had one son. Ashby died in 1935. Jacob Mc Lain (ca. 1755-ca. 1835) married Elizabeth Wilson (ca. 1773- after May 1835), a natve of Ireland, in Pennsylvania. They had six children, 1781-1801. The family lived in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, until ca. 1806 when they migrated to Muskingum County, Ohio. Jacob and Elizabeth Mc Lain both died in Muskingum County.
