Archibald Sullivan, son of John Sullivan and Mary Colquhoun, was born 20 October 1818 in Cumberland, North Carolina. He married Julia Antoinette Matthews (1836-1913), daughter of Joseph Lazarus Matthews and Rhoda Carrell, 6 November 1850 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had thirteen children. Mary Tyson was born at Blackburn, Lancashire, England in 1811, daughter of Matthew Tyson and Ann Marsden Tyson. After the death of her husband, Ann Tyson married Richard Ramsbottom in 1813.
