Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Applegate families who came mainly from England, and settled in the Long Island (New York), West Indies, and Virginia. In the 1700-1800's some migrated to Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Later descendants also lived in California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, North Dakota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Washington and elsewhere.

Robert (Black Hawk) Stewart (1780-1871) was born in Westmoreland Co., Pa., and died in Jefferson Twp., Clark Co., Indiana. He married 1811 in Clark Co., Ind. Rosanna Long (1795-1858). She was born in Kentucky. Descendants live in Indiana, Kentucky, Florida and elsewhere.
