Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Applegate families who came mainly from England, and settled in the Long Island (New York), West Indies, and Virginia. In the 1700-1800's some migrated to Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Later descendants also lived in California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, North Dakota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Washington and elsewhere.

Jesse Applegate (1811-1888) was born in Kentucky. His family had been in America since 1635 and he descended from a pioneering family which had moved from New Jersey to Kentucky in 1783. In about 1825 Jesse moved to Missouri where he met and married Cynthia Ann Parker in 1831. Lindsay Applegate was born Sept 18, 1808 in Henry County, Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Miller and they had twelve children. His Applegate ancestry is traced back to Thomas Applegate who was a member of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Chelmer Raymond Moore was born 28 July 1929 in Mountain View, Missouri. He was the son of Richard Alva Moore and Lillian Sadie Cochran. Chelmer married Virginia May Trowbridge 17 September 1950 in Missouri. They lived in Missouri and reared a family of three known children. Descendants lived primarily in Missouri, Tennessee and elsewhere.

Stephen Pangburn (d.1778) moved from Long Island, New York to Perth-Amboy, New Jersey during or before 1744, and was the father of William Pangburn (b.1744) who fought in the Revolutionary War. William married Hannah Fitz Randolph in 1770 and moved to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania about 1788. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois and elsewhere. Includes Randolph ancestry to about 1636, chiefly in New England and Virginia.

Jan Hendrickse Van Baal was born in 1636 and married Helena Teller (1645-1707), daughter of William Teller (1620-1701) and Margaret Donckesen. They lived in New York. Thomas Applegate came from Norfolk, England to Massachusetts in 1635 and later moved to Rhode Island and New York.
