James Archibald was born in Roxburghshire, Scotland. He married Jane Cowan. They had at least one son, Charles, who was christened 23 August 1811 in Eckford, Roxburgh. Charles married Margret Pringle Marr, daughter of James Marr and Rachel Pringle. They moved to England and then to the United States.

William Archibald (1781-1845) and his wife, Isabel Wood, came to New Brunswick from Saltcoast, Aryshire, Scotland in 1831 and settled at Resigouche County, New Brunswick. William was the son of Hugh Archibald and Jeanet Cowan. Isabel Wood was the daugher of Robert Wood and Isabel Robison of Stevenston, Scotland. Descendants lived in New Brunswick and elsewhere.

Don Carlos Stallings (1868-1935) was born in Eden, Weber County, Utah to Joseph Stallings and his fourth wife, Mary Ann Gibbs.
