Research notes supporting the original book about Callam Holman Bailey, who was born 1 January 1749 in Louisa Co., Virginia. He was the son of Callam Bailey Sr. and Sarah (or Susanna) Holman. Callam married Judith Ann Gillam 25 July 1776 and was later drafted to fight in the Revolutionary War. Callam was the father of twelve children. Descendants lived primarily in Virginia, Kentucky and elsewhere.
