George Peter Bahr and his family emigrated in 1753 from Switzerland (via Rotterdam) to Philadelphia, and settled in Berkley County, Virginia. His grandson, Henry Bare (1785-1865), married Devina Keezee in 1810 at Gallipollis, Ohio, and lived in Carter County, Kentucky.
