Ancestry of John C. Hall, who was born 20 Oct. 1821, in Faversham, Kent, England, the son of Thomas Johnston Hall (b. 1797) and Charlotte Wright Hall (1800-1857). Thomas Gilbert (died 1793) and his wife Elizabeth (died 1777) had four children. Nothing is known about their origins. In 1779, Thomas married Hannah Burton (died 1822). They apparently had no children. Descendants live throughout the United States.

Rev. George Ebberson was born between 1760 and 1764. He married Zipporah Brown, daughter of James Brown, 11 June 1792 in Queensbury Parish, York, New Brunswick. They had eight known children. Zipporah was born about 1772 in Pennsylvania and died about 1844 in Kitley Township, Leeds County, Ontario. George died in 1840 or 1841 in Kitley Township. Descendants lived mainly in Ontario. John Libby (1602-1682) immigrated to Richmond Island in 1636 and went to Scarborough, Maine before 1640. One descendant, Nathaniel Lebbey,(1740-1802) was born in New Hampshire, married Elizabeth Howard in 1764 and moved to Charleston, South Carolina. Descendants of their six children remained chiefly in the South.
