Sadie was born in 1906 to Peter Smith and Anna Norman. She married Lloyd Banning in 1935 in South Dakota. With one child, Maurice, in the family, they moved around the country with Lloyd's jobs. Sadie died in 1983. Includes information on Sadie's Swedish ancestors. Her grandfather, Pehr Jonsson, took the name of Peter Norman when he came to America in 1881.

James Grier, a Scot descendant of the Macgregor clan, was born in Northern Ireland in 1818. Samuel Banning (1713-1803), a lieutenant from East Harland, Connecticut, in the Revolutionary War, and his was Elanor (1724-1803), had a least two sons, born 1739-ca. 1755.
