Moses W. Barber was born probably in Virginia about 1810. He married Thetis Caraway in North Carolina and they had 11 children. Eventually they moved to Mississippi where many of the family still live. Information on their descendants who now live in Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and elsewhere is included in this volume.

Donald Boyden Barber was born 17 August 1906 in Salt Lake City, Utah. His parents were Horace David Barber (1864-1924) and Louise Ostler (1869-1910). He served in World War II. He married Barbara Jean Schipper 19 October 1948 in California. They had four children.

George Barber first settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony at age 20. He married Elizabeth Clarke and had 8 children. He later married Joan Faxon Fisher. He died in 1685. George's son, Joseph married Mary Paine, moved to Scituate, Massachusetts after her death and married Mary Kent. In 1713 he moved to Rehoboth, Rhode Island, which was ceded to Massachusetts. In his later years he married Deborah Hunt. Joseph died in 1727 in Rehoboth.
