James Taylor (1635-1698) lived in Carlisle, Cumberland, England. He emigrated and settled in Virginia. He married Frances Walker in about 1666 in Virginia. They had three children. He married Mary Bishop Gregory in 1682. They had seven children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio, Texas and Iowa.
