Edmund Etchison (ca.1757-1845) moved from Maryland to Virginia as a young man, and married Edith Richardson in 1779. They moved to Rowan County, North Carolina about 1782, and he died in Davie County, North Carolina. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois and elsewhere.

George Antis, Sr. and his family moved to Knox County, Indiana in the late 1790s. The family had earlier lived in New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Kentucky. Many Indiana descendants spelled the surname Anthis. Descendants lived in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois and elsewhere.
