Thomas Rukavina (1877-1952) emigrated from near Perusic, Gospic County, Lika Province in Croatia (then in the Austrian-Hungarian Empire) to Baltimore, Maryland in 1900, moved to Chicago, Illinois (from where he went to many states for temporary work). He married Lucy Basi in 1913 in Chicago, and later moved to Virginia, Minnesota. Descendants lived in Minnesota, Illinois and elsewhere.
