Jesse William Lewis (1836-1916) was born in Indiana, and moved with his parents to Iowa, and married Mary A. Fuller in 1855. In 1861 they moved to Payson, Utah (where his wife's sister lived), and later settled in Provo, Utah. He became a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1865.
