Samuel Basford (1808-1877) married Henrietta Kingsbury. They settled in Vermont and had five children. Their son, Joseph (1845-1921), married Mary Magee 17 December 1867. They settled in South Dakota and had eight children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa and California.
