He married Catherine Rebecca Ann Goff 29 October 1888 in West Jordan, Utah. They had five children. His wife died 1 September 1903 in Midvale, Utah. Alberto Delos married Adella Allen Walker on August 24th 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Daniel Shelton was born in Deptford, Yorkshire, England. He emigrated to America before 1690 and settled at Stratford, Connecticut. On 4 April 1692 he married Elizabeth Welles of Wethersfield, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Samuel Welles and Elizabeth Hollister. Mrs. Elizabeth (Welles) Shelton was born in 1670 and died 1 April 1747. Daniel died early 1728 and is supposed to have been about 60 years old.
