Raymond Walter Ripley (1913-2009), son of Walter Harrison Ripley (188-1967) and Grace Evelyn Hudler,, was born in Leslie, Michigan. He married Gracie Wyonia Boyers (1914-1998), daughter of Levi Adelbert Boyers (1894-1985) and Joy Augusta Krontz, in 1938 in Jackson, Michigan. They had six children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in New York, Ohio and Michigan.

Valentin (or Valtin) Schreck was born on 2 May 1795 in Altenbuch, Bavaria, Germany and died between 1853 and 1855 probably in Kentucky. He was the son of Jakob and Anna Maria Schreck. He married Anna Maria in Germany. She was born on 7 August 1810 in Germany and died on 10 June 1885 in Covington, Kentucky.
