John Bean (d. 1718) of Scottish lineage, was probably born in Scotland, and settled in Exeter, New Hampshire as early as 1660. His children by both his first wife, and his second wife, Margaret, lived in New Hampshire, New York, Maine, Vermont and Canada. Some later migrated to Ohio, Kentucky, South Carolina, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Georgia, Minnesota, California, Oregon, and elsewhere in the United States and Canada.

Francis Armstrong (1839-1899), son of William Armstrong and Mary Kirk, was born in Plenmellor, Northumberland, England. His family immigrated to Canada in 1856. He immigrated to Missouri when he was eighteen and migrated to Utah in 1861. He married Isabelle Siddoway, daughter of Robert Siddoway and Elizabeth Dawson. They had eleven children. He married Sarah Carruth, daughter of John Carruth and Annie Henning. They had six children.

Willard Washington Bean was born 16 May 1868. He was the son of LDS pioneers George Washington Bean and Elizabeth Baum. Willard moved westward with his parents and settled in Utah. He married Gussie Dee Feltz 3 May 1899 and Rebecca Rosetta Peterson 18 September 1914. Willard was the father of thirty children and died 25 September 1949. Descendants lived primarily in Utah.

Russell Owens Bean was born 24 December 1830 in Marion County, Alabama. He married Elizabeth Ann Harper 24 February 1856 in Gonzales County, Texas. Elizabeth was born 13 January 1839 in Morgan County, Georgia. Russell died 14 February 1919 in Riverside, Riverside County, California. Elizabeth died 26 April 1905 in Forsyth, Rosebud County, Montana.
