Claude Stanton Morrison was born April 27, 1908 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. His parents were James Alexander Morrison and Martha Jane Averitt. He married Anna Mae beard, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Beard and Hixey Sanders. They had 10 children. Anna was born in 1908 in Montgomery County, Tennessee and died in 1967. Claude died December 21, 1983. Descendants live mainly in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Descendants of Thomas Beard (Baird) (1777-1863), who married Martha McKee (1777-1854) 1799. He was a son of John and Mary Beard (Baird) of Scotch-Irish descent. Adam Lyday (ca.1744-ca.1804), probably the son of a German immigrant and possibly an immigrant himself, was in Elizabethtown, Maryland in 1759 and died near Leitersburg, Maryland. Descendants lived in Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and elsewhere.

Franklin Beard was born a Stanstead, Lower Canada, in 1820, the son Elijah and Lucy Horn Beard. His family immigrated to Franklin County, Vermont, when he was about eight years old. John and Martha Beard, and their two oldest sons, immigrated from Ireland in 1770. John Beard (d. 1809) and his wife, Martha (d. 1816), had ten children, 1768-1798. Rufus Edwards was born 1770-1780 in Connecticut. He married Letetia Windsor, daughter of Basil Windsor and Mary Ann, on 11 October 1803 in Trumble County, Ohio. Rufus died about 1838.
