Thomas Christian Christensen was born in 1827 in Ugilt, Hjorring, Denmark. His parents were Christian Thomsen and Anne Marie Michelsen. He married Christine Christensdatter in 1849. They had six children. Thomas died in 1911 in Irene, Clay County, South Dakota. Descendants and relatives lived in South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Oregon, Washington and elsewhere.
