Description
Leonard Loftin (ca. 1654-1720) was born in Pennsylvania and migrated to Chowan County, North Carolina, ca. 1688. He and his wife, Elizabeth, had at least seven children, 1695-after 1705. Elizabeth died ca. 1716 and about that time he moved to Craven County, North Carolina, where he died. Descendants of his sons, Cornelius Loftin (1695- 1761), Leonard Loftin (1697-1774), and Benoni Loftin (b. 1705), listed lived in North Carolina and elsewhere.

John Herring (1684-1760) emigrated and first settled in Isle of Wight Co., VA. He next settled in Chowan, Bertie and Lenoir Co., NC.. He may have had brothers, Samuel, Edward, Simon, Thomas, Abram and Anthony Herring. His wife may have been Cathuren Marbe. They were the parents of at least three children: John Jr., Joshua and Susanna who married a Becton. Their son Joshua (1723-1801) married Elizabeth Matchett (1728-1786), a native of Co. Down, Ireland....

John Grady (1710-1791) was the son of William Grady and was probably born in Chowan County, North Carolina. He married Mary Whitfield, daughter of William and Elizabeth Goodman Whitfield. Mary died 20 December 1791. They were the parents of eleven children. Descendants live in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Texas and elsewhere.
