Description
Jotham Bemus (ca.1738-1786) lived on the west bank of the Hudson River about 4 miles north of Stillwater, Saratoga County, New York, and married Tryphena Moore. He and his sons fought with the Revolutionary Army when attacked by Burgoyne and the British (at least in part, the battle took place on Bemus's land). Descendants and relatives lived in New York and elsewhere.

George Joris Woolsey, Jr. was born 27 October 1610 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. His parents were George Woolsey, Sr. and Frances. He married Rebecca Cornell, daughter of Thomas Cornell and Rebecca Briggs, 9 Dec 1647 in New York. She was born 31 January 1629 in Saffron Walden, Essex, England. George died 17 August 1698 in Flushing, Queens, New York. Rebecca died 5 February 1713 in Jamaica, Queens, Long Island, New York.
