Livonia Ellen Benedict was born in 1832 in Spring Arbor, Michigan to Moses Benedict and Betsey Welch. Livonia married William H. Perrine in 1854. Traces the Benedict line back to George Benedict, Sr. (b. ca. 1517) of Tasboro, Norfolk County, England.

Thomas Benedict (1617-ca. 1690) was born in Nottinghamshire, Norfolk, England and married Mary Bridgum ca. 1640 in Southold, Long Island, New York. He had immigrated to America in 1638. He died in Norwalk, Connecticut. Descendants lived in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere.
