Richard Waters (1604-ca. 1687) immigrated from England to Naumkeag (later Salem), Massachusetts in 1635. He married Joyce (or Rejoice) Plasse. They had twelve children whose descendants remained in New England for several generations.

Henry Chambers came to America in the early 1700's probably from Scotland. His descendants through his son Arthur, grandson of Maxwell and great grandson Robert are spotlighted in this material. They have gradually moved west as many settlers did from Pennsylvania, to North Carolina, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Wyoming, Washington, and California where a large percentage of them stayed.
