Thomas Birchard (1595-1657) was born in Roxbury, Sussex, England and married Mary Robinson Andrews (born 1597). They came to America in 1635, and he later died in Dorchester, Massachusetts. James McMillan, probably the son of Daniel McMillan and Rosanna Johnston, was born in about 1788 probably in Ireland. He married Elizabeth Burns in about 1825. They had seven children, all born in Stranraer, Wigtonshire, Scotland. Some of their children immigrated to Ontario.
