Thomas Blackstock was baptized on 26 February 1758 and died on 6 July 1848 in Argyll, Scotland. The record states that he was probably not born in Argyll. He was the son of James Blackstock and Elizabeth Tweedy. He married Henerita Ferguson, daughter of Duncan Ferguson and Mary Campbell, in 1782 in Argyll. They had twelve children. Descendants have resided primarily in Scotland, New Zealand, Australia and Canada.

Josiah Askew (1740-1818) married (2) Constance Mercer Barron, widow of Barnabas Barron in 1804. His first wife is unknown. Josiah and his first wife were the parents of seven children. Josiah Askew (1740s-1818) was probably a direct descendant in the fourth generation of John Askew (d.1683), who immigrated from England to Isle of Wight County, Virginia and married Bridget Smith. Josiah's father, John Askew (d.1751), married Margaret Boone and moved from Isle of Wight County, Virginia to the area of North Carolina that is now Edgecombe and Bertie Counties. William Blackstock (1833-1915) was born at Carradale, Kintyre, Scotland, son of Duncan Blackstock and Margaret McCallum. He came to New Zealand in 1862 and married Margaret Cockburn (1845-1931) in 1869. He died in Riverton. Includes some information on other Blackstock families in New Zealand.

Alexander Meharry, III was born 5 August 1763 in Ballyjamesduff, Cavan, Ireland. He married Jane Gillespie and they had two children. He married Jane Francis (b. 1771), daughter of John Francis and Margaret Cranston, 7 May 1794. They emigrated in 1794 and lived in New York, Philadelphia, New London and Fayette, Pennsylvania and finally settled in and Adams County, Ohio.

The families are interrelated. Alexander Power, Sr., born 1752 in Ireland; died after 1810 in Laurens Co., SC. He married Sarah "Sally" Moore about 1745-50 in Maryland (perhaps). Sarah died after 1810 and was buried at Warrior Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens Co., SC.
