Description
William Bloyd (d. 1809) immigrated to the eastern shore of Maryland from Scotland. His wife was Barsheba Lord. They moved to South Carolina and then to Green County Kentucky. Descendants lived in the South and in California, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee and elsewhere.

William Bloyd (Bloide) (ca. 1750-1809) ". . . may have been born in Maryland or perhaps Virginia." He married Keziah Barsheba Lord, and moved to Green County, Kentucky in 1805. Some descendants moved to Illinois, Arkansas, Texas and elsewhere.

Joshua Hall, son of John Hall and Jane Rawlins, was born about 1708 in Wales. He emigrated to Maryland when he was 12 or 13, settling in Baltimore with his father. He married Diana Spicer, daughter of John Spicer and Juliatha Hawkins, about 1730 in Baltimore, Maryland. They had 4 children. Diana died about 1749/50 in Baltimore. James Smith was born circa 1770. He married Rachel McVay, daughter of John McVay, Sr. They had nine children. He died in 1823 in Hardin County, Kentucky. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Kentucky.

Coonrod Poyle or Pile (1766-1849) was born in Germany and immigrated to America after the American Revolution settling first in North Carolina and then in Tennessee by 1791. He was the father of at least eleven children. His numerous descendants live in Tennessee and throughout the United States and include such well known figures as World War II reporter Ernie Pyle and World War I hero, Sargeant Alvin C. York.
