The immigrant ancestor of this family was Nicholas Boogher, who born in 1680 in Germany. He came over on the "Friendship" in 1727 and settled in Pennsylvania. Traces the descendants of his grandson, Bartholomew Booher, who was living in Frederick County, Maryland in 1757. His will was probated in Frederick County on May 1, 1792. Alexander Booher, son of Peter Booher and Elizabeth, was born in 1798 in Virginia. He married and Rebecca Kinser (1802-1853), daughter of Adam Kinser and Sarah, in 1824. They had thirteen children. He married Susannah Bell in 1853. He died in 1871 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. Descendants and relatives lived in Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.

Edward Beeson, a Quaker, and his wife, Rachel Pennington, emigrated from England in 1682 and settled in Pennsylvania. Record follows line of descent to John Henry Beeson (1842-1915). He was born in Montgomery County, Ohio, the son of Tristram and Hannah Beeson. He married Cordelia J. Brentlinger (1845-1922) in 1865. They had eight children, 1866-1885. David Lehman Booher (1811-1887) was born in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Samuel Booher and Susan Lehman. In 1832 he married Elizabeth Nutts (1813-1886), the daughter of George Nutts and Mary (Polly) Baum. In 1842 they moved to Columbus, Georgia. Elizabeth Parrigin (1797-1904) was the daughter of John Booher. The family moved from Sullivan County, Tennessee to Washington County, Virginia and then to Clinton County, Kentucky where she died at age 105. She married Henry Parrigin in 1821 and had seven children. Descendants and relatives lived also in Indiana and some moved west.
