Joseph F. Boren was the son of John Wesley Boren (1814-1846) and Mary Ann Johnson. He married Eliza Denby Williams and served in the 91st Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He died in 1874 in Indiana. His ancestry is traced to Nicholas Boren (1756-1826) of Ireland and Tennessee.

Thomas Prewitt was born in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England in 1616. In 1636 he immigrated to Charles River County, Virginia. One descendant, Moses Pruitt, Sr., was born in Halifax County, Virginia ca. 1764 and married Rachel. Their children were born in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Moses later moved to Warren County, (Allen County), Kentucky ca. 1800. Descendants lived in Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Texas, Illinois, and elsewhere.

Addison Pinkney Boren was born 30 August 1822 in New Garden, North Carolina. His parents were Benjamin Boren and Eunice Knight. He married Mary Jane Smith 7 October 1852. They had nine children.
