Description
Joseph F. Boren was the son of John Wesley Boren (1814-1846) and Mary Ann Johnson. He married Eliza Denby Williams and served in the 91st Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He died in 1874 in Indiana. His ancestry is traced to Nicholas Boren (1756-1826) of Ireland and Tennessee.

Bazel Boren (ca. 1755-1812), a son of Joseph Boren, was born in North Carolina. He married Susanna Bryant, daughter of Morgan Bryan, Jr., ca. 1780. They had twelve children. Some descendants are LDS, and live in Utah. Others live in Tennessee.

Biographical sketch and family history of Coleman Boren (1808-1858), son of Bazel Boren, who moved from Tennessee to Johnson County, Illinois, and married Malinda Keller in 1830. They became converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and moved to Nauvoo in 1842, later moving to Provo, Utah. Descendants lived in Utah, California and elsewhere.
